Bobby Hampton Memorial Race

Bobby Hampton Memorial Race

The 7th Annual Bobby Hampton Memorial Race took place on June 19th at Scott High School in Madison, WV.  It began in 2004 to honor the memory of Robin Pennington’s father and has raised over 30,000 for various organizations since its inception.  The event is held annually in conjunction with the WV Coal Festival.

More than 250 runners, walkers and children registered for the 2010 races which included an 11-mile race, 5K run, 5K walk and children’s races.  There was also a free health fair for the community sponsored by Southern West Virginia Health Systems.  The health fair consisted of free bone density screenings, body mass index, blood pressure checks, bone marrow registration, and more.

All proceeds from the 2010 race benefited KaBOOM, a non-profit organization that builds playgrounds in areas of need.   The proceeds from the race were earmarked for a playground that would be built in September with additional funding from the 1st and 10 Foundation.   Please see the article titled “New Playground black porn for West Madison, WV” for additional information on the playground.
