Resource Council Members
The 1st and 10 Foundation benefits greatly from the help of special individuals serving as members of the Resource Council. These people donate their time to give guidance and support throughout the year.

Cameron Burns
Cam is currently a Managing Director of Silvercrest Asset Management in New York, NY, after serving for 16 years as Executive Director at Morgan Stanley & Company. Cam received his bachelor's degree in Economics from Williams, and went on to graduate from The Wharton School with an M.B.A in Finance. He is a member of Christ Church in Greenwich, CT and a class agent for Milton Academy in Milton, MA. He also coaches soccer at the Greenwich Soccer Club and his family supports charities involving medical research, youth programs and scholarships, and environmental conservation. Cam was born and raised in Big Timber, Montana where his family manages a fourth generation cattle ranching business established in 1886. He is married to Alison S. Burns, and the two have three sons.

Geoffrey Sheils
Geoff currently serves as President & CEO of First Sentry Bank in Huntington, WV. A native of Huntington, Geoff graduated from Marshall University with a degree in Accounting before going on to West Virginia School of Banking and becoming a Certified Public Accountant in 1990. Geoff has been in the banking business for more than 20 years, beginning his career with First Huntington National Bank (now known as JP Morgan Chase). He is currently a member of the West Virginia Association of Community Bankers, the West Virginia Bankers Association and the WV Society of CPA's. In addition to being a 1st and 10 Resource Council Member, Geoff is a Board Member for the United Way Foundation, Huntington Symphony Orchestra, Boys & Girls Club and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State. He is married to the former Melinda Blake. They have one son, Sam (10) and two daughters, Madeleine (9) and Natalie (5). He is a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church.

Denise Pennington
Denise graduated from Oceana High School in Oceana, WV before graduating from Marshall University with her teaching degree. Since that time, she has been busy educating youth in Knoxville, TN. She began her teaching career at Clinton Junior High School and taught at Norris, Cambell County, Karns and Halls high schools before arriving at her current post, teaching English at The Webb School of Knoxville. She is a member of National Educators of America as well as the National Council of Teachers of English. She is also involved in National Forensic League and Speech and Theater organizations. When she is not working, Denise enjoys reading, fishing, gardening and going to the theater. She is also interested in mission work and European travel. She is married to Elwood, and they have two children, Chad and Andrea.

Tahetia Petrone
Tahetia received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.  After graduation, she worked in various sales & marketing related positions designing and developing point of purchase and promotional items for fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Petrone Training, she worked with the U30 Group located in Knoxville, TN where she was an account manager for Levi Strauss, and Reebok. She traveled college campuses across the U.S. to interview and recruit college students to be on research panels, execute research projects, and manage the account. She ultimately served as the director of a marketing research panel for Pizza Hut. Tahetia has been with Petrone Training since 1996, a company she and her husband Charles own and operate. She oversees all aspects of business and marketing for the company. Her perspective and nutritional advice goes hand-in-hand with Charles’ training regimen to give an added edge to each athlete. The Petrones are in the process of creating a line of speed development products that will revolutionize the way athletes train for speed.
