Christmas in Knoxville
The 1st and 10 Foundation enjoyed another Christmas in Knoxville as 25 children from Child & Family Tennessee went on a shopping spree at the local Target. The Foundation provided each of the children a $250 gift card to spend on items of his or her choosing.
This shopping trip has a very tangible effect, in the form of a very smooth holiday time for our group homes,” said Kate O’Day, CEO of Child & Family Tennessee. We definitely attribute this to the 1st and 10 and the wonderful message of caring the organization gave these kids. It was really special.”
Following their shopping trip, the group headed to Zuma’s Fun Center, where they spent the evening go-kart racing, riding on bumper boats, and many other exciting activities. The Foundation gave each child a winter coat, hat, scarf and gloves as well as a Reebok bag.
“This annual event is really special to me, being a native of the Knoxville area,” said Chad Pennington. “We enjoy helping to make the Holiday season a little brighter for these kids.”
Since 1929, Child and Family Tennessee has served vulnerable children and families in the East Tennessee area. The organization provides a wide range of services to more than 21,000 residents of the East Tennessee area.
